Why We Built This Site
Oklahoma gives the public broad access to court records. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. In Washita County, the Court Clerk maintains every District Court case file, including felony, misdemeanor, civil, family, probate, traffic, and small claims matters, and issues certified copies. The County Clerk, Kristen Dowell, records land records and other recorded instruments only, such as deeds, mortgages, and liens. The Sheriff runs the jail roster and handles warrants. Probate is a District Court matter here, not a separate court. Driver records come from Service Oklahoma and the Department of Public Safety, while statewide criminal history comes from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for each of these offices into one place.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
